Rebecca Beatty Equine Photography 2020
Hi, I'm Cecilia!
I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky. I received my bachelor's in Equine Science and Management in December 2021. The resume tab expands on my work experience and provides images as well as pdf files of my resume and a sample cover letter. I have always been involved in a club or team since high school and you can find more in the extracurricular tab. My internship at the University of Kentucky was with Joyce Brinsfield at Ballyhigh Show Stables. I have also listed all the equine courses I have taken and expanded on the parts that have been applicable to my own life. All the images have been taken by me or my parents unless otherwise stated.

BackgroundI fell in love with equines the moment I saw them. When I was 4 years old, my great grandparents would watch me during the day and took me to the stables just down the street to ride. Ever since then I could not get enough and knew I wanted to be involved in the industry. When my family moved to northern Michigan when I was still in elementary school, I begged them to find a stable for me to go to. That is when I was introduced to Doug Walters at Outrider Horseback riding. I started out just going for pony rides and trail rides, but when I was old enough I would stay all day and help with chores. From then on, I only became more involved leading trail rides, training new horses, and giving beginner lessons.

Studio 54After moving to the University of Kentucky, although I was surrounded by horses, I wanted one of my own. I had my eyes on this dark bay mare from the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center who kept catching my interest. Little did I know that she came from a large neglect case and was numbered horse 54. Once rescued at the center and after recovering, she was sent back from multiple adoptive homes. Once I went to meet this mare, I knew she was my horse. She was a challenge when I got her: scared of everything, wouldn't canter, bucked while mounted, very sensitive, and untrusting. After some time of me working with her daily, she has become the best companion and barn favorite to many.
